Infrared Photography Live Stream Q&A

On May 9th, I hosted an Infrared Photography Live Stream Q&A. I answered questions from viewers, answer questions from previous videos, and did some troubleshooting on viewer images. Below are some of the questions addressed in the stream with the approximate timestamp for each.

  • 0:01:52 Can you use PhotoLab DxO for Infrared? Here is a video I did reviewing PhotoLab DxO for Infrared. I had forgotten this in the Live Stream, but the main issue that I had with DxO is no support for Fuji X-Trans raw.
  • 0:02:40 Do I need to setup a custom white balance in camera? Should I set a white balance with the filter in place? Should I shoot white, a gray card, green foliage or grass for the custom profile? In addition to the answer in the live stream, you don’t need to set a white balance when shooting an image specifically used to create a profile.
